Sharing the story of human-trafficking has been a passion of Dr. Ana Nogales for years and we see it come to life in her play Don’t Call Me Baby!
We see unfold before our eyes the true-life story of one of Dr. Nogales' clients as she is forced to confront her past and share her story with the love of her life.Don’t Call Me Baby! gives us an inside look into a world most of us know nothing about and it brings home the reality that it could happen to any of us.
This heart-warming story provokes us to feel both anger and compassion and by the end of the play this touching story will move you to tears as it did me.

The material is brilliant! It is very concise and realistically portrays all points of view on the subject in a very accessible manner. I had no previous knowledge on any of those subjects, but was able to understand them perfectly. It is written in a style that is easily understandable while maintaining its educational purpose.
The play was able to inform the audience, while simultaneously engaging them in a debate so as to further connect with them. It is an ideal work to show students at all levels of education because it discusses adolescent drug addiction, violence, and alcoholism while exposing their repercussions. It entertains to the point where it successfully disguises itself, making the audience forget that it is an educational play. I congratulate Dr. Nogales on her achievement. It was a pleasurable experience.

My husband and I saw Don’t Call Me Baby! last night and were very moved by its wrenching story! The way the scenes shift from therapist and client to therapist and husband, to the two husbands conferring in the gym, to therapist and supervisor--brilliant!
I loved how the script brought in the men's attitudes re: prostitution and how their perspectives shift over the course of the play. And I felt the deep compassion in the therapist character. I also admired the way the stories the client tells her therapist are acted out behind the see-through curtain - very evocative.
Before seeing the play, I couldn't imagine how a drama could both "educate & entertain" given the seriousness of the topic, but Don’t Call Me Baby! did so brilliantly! When we left, my husband said he had no idea how prevalent human trafficking was - and he wondered about where all these people are who visit such brothels. In other words, it really made him think deeply about this subject! Bravo to the playwright, director, and actors! What a wonderful accomplishment!
